Eagle Band Accomplishments


Starting in 1986 when there was only a pep band, there was a need to have an organization that would be able to bring some sense of pride to the School, and The School District.


Thru efforts of some people who had been involved with the program before and who still had kids interested in marching band, there began a push to get the band re-vitalized.


As it goes with many things the effort also began to spill over into the Guard, Orchestra, and Jazz Band areas. soon the Choral groups began to pick up interest. The parent group " The Music Parents Association " was very much involved in all those areas and was able to co-ordinate much of the activity.


Our first Director of marching Band got the project moving, but after a shaky start and a less than complete success, a change was made to bring in a New Director.


Needless to say it was a good decision.


Once we get the numbers of the first Band they will be posted,
(as i remember, it was less than 20). Not a real big band. The Goal, join a band competition circuit and grow and become a good band.


Sounds simple huh?


In 1990 the Goal became make it to the ACC Competition Finals, pretty lofty goal!!
