Paul's MC Pages

My Own
Within this site are the following MC-related resources:
Servers
The servers I know of so far are:
- The quintessential
Aurora
server at York. It is hosted by Rob Bunting, a man whose acclaim for
providing MC on the web possibly outstrips his fame as a Space Geophysicist.
York hosts an amazing collection of people - from the brilliance of Kevan
Davis and Jonathon Hall, through the flashing style of James Pearce and James
Davey (Silk), to the more bizarre yet nonetheless solid play of Mr. Wild Pants
and the Unknown Anorak. Play - and enjoy!
- The now probably defunct
Delphi.
Originally set up by Yoz from his student code at UCL (I think), it was built
into a formidable playing field, host to a huge variety of players. If you're
really old you'll remember Ann Gow, Anthony Bailey and Marcus Hill - newer
people will remember Jon Poole (old people, like me, will remember him too),
Brian Wilson (Rudderless) and A Gentleman on Business from Porlock. Since the
demise of this site, many of the players there have moved to York.
- The complete but rather strange
Crescent Organisation
site. Set up by Matthew (reasonably well known at Delphi), it attempts to
contain the vast body of literature available on MC throughout the world.
Unfortunately a lot of the links are old and withered, or just not complete.
Still, good for an overview.
- The Delphi-like and very functional
Wild Pants Server.
After Delphi basically fell over in a heap, Mr. Wild Pants with his associate
BinMan created this site to replace the old Delphi whilst adding a number of
new features. It is faster, a bit nicer, and seems to be populated by fewer
screaming morons. Good on it.
- Of course, the quintessential site for the serious MC player is
Mornington Nomic.
As Kevan says, this is a surprisingly successful attempt to set up a
Mornington Crescent game on Nomic lines, by starting with an initial set of
basic rules and voting in new rules from there. Players then get to try out
their suggestions and change things (hopefully for the better) as time goes
on. Absolutely splendid. Join now or perish.

Players
This list does not attempt to be a complete reference to all those who play
Mornington Crescent, nor does it attempt to duplicate the efforts of the
Player Profiles held at York or maintained by me for Delphi. It won't even
try to be complete, because this is a list of those people I can track down in
a perverse display of name scrounging. It will, however, try to be
alphabetical; I'm just like that.
The email addresses have 'nospam' attached to them to avoid automatic web-bots
capturing the whole list and piling more spam into mailboxes. Please remove
this before mailing.
