Tammy came to live with us
day before yesterday, on September 22, 2001. With the help of our
farrier, Ingrid Gryskiewicz, are going to attempt to rehabilitate her
badly disfigured left front leg, at least enough to make her
comfortable. There is only so much that can be done with her 'bad'
leg; what we must do is somehow restore the frog missing from her
left ('good') hoof so that it remains strong enough to carry the
major part of her fore quarter.
Tammy is alert,
friendly, and happy; she doesn't appear to be in a great deal of
pain. So please, whatever your belief system, pray for Tammy. If you
are an energy worker, send her whatever you can.
These pictures were
taken moments after Tammy's arrival. Yesterday Ingrid pulled the shoe
from her crippled foot and trimmed her hooves. We took 'after'
photos, so watch for updates in just a few days.
