Orbital side logo One of the most popular ambient techno groups in existence today is the famed Orbital. Orbital, as do many other electronic acts, hails from the U.K. Since its conception in 1989, Orbital has proven very talented in making ambient music that seems like a journey through sound. Their tracks are most often very long, the average track being around 7 or 8 minutes long, with some reaching lengths of 15+ minutes. They insert samples into their songs very often(often singing women), and their music has trademark beats. Orbital consists of brothers Phil and Paul Hartnoll. Phil and Paul Hartnoll

Then in 1991 they brought out their first album, which was self-entitled. This continued to raise the group's popularity. Afterwards, the album "Orbital 2" was released in 1993, "Snivilisation" in 1994, "Insides" in 1995, and most recently "The Middle of Nowhere" in 1999. In addition, they have released many singles, including "Chime", "Times Fly", "The Box", "Satan", "The Saint", "Radiccio", "Peelsessions", "Lush", "Diversions", "Halcyon", and "Are We Here". Their tracks "The Box" and "The Saint" have been featured on "The Saint" soundtrack, and the track "Halcyon+on+on" has appeared on the "Mortal Kombat" soundtrack.
