Stephen King
The first Stephen King novel I ever read was Carrie (before the movie). I was intriqued, but slightly disturbed. The next novel was Salem's Lot, and although I am no Vampire groupie, I was enthralled and terrified. Then along came The Shining, and I was blown away. The latest of his books I just finished reading are the Gunslinger (Dark Tower) series. Although they started out slow, the 2nd book hooked me, and I am convinced that Stephen King is quite spooky. His writing is very readable and flows well, I suppose that's why so many have been made in to movies, his novels are practically screen plays. The book cover images leave a lot to be desired however, and are included here for your perusal.
