News .....
21/11/2001 - I'm back ! After 15 months of
dormancy, Magic & Mayhem 2: The Art of Magic was finally released on
the 2nd November, I have the promise of some new help with the M &
M 1 site, so this site is now back in action .... I only just got Art of
Magic on Friday 16th, so it'll be a while before I start on a M & M
2 section.
In the meantime, I'll be endeavouring to do
more of the M & M 1 walkthrough , complete the creature section, add
stuff to the gallery and start looking at the other sections.
13/8/2000 - Ok, a couple of things - first, while this is probably fairly obvious since I haven't updated in something like 10 months, but this site is on hold (except for perhaps updating the creature section so it's fully done,) until Magic & Mayhem 2: The Art of Magic comes out and I get my hands on a copy, unless anyone gets in contact and is enthusiastic about helping out with the current Magic & Mayhem 1 site here (email me at N.J.P.Gibbons@bradford.ac.uk) if you do want to help, please make sure you are serious about helping out, as I've had a couple of people who sounded enthusiastic and then didn't respond when I took them up on it. A couple of news items: There's a great new site for the upcoming sequel - visit Magic & Mayhem: The Art of Magic for the latest news on the sequel, screenshots and more ! (Thanks to Steve for mailing me with the info on his site) The developers are Charybis Ltd rather than Mythos Games, and it'll be published by Virgin here and Bethesda in the US.
12/10/99 - A couple of news items; firstly
I heard that Magic & Mayhem 2 is indeed coming out; although it'll
be
developed by Virgin; not Mythos - apparently
it'll be 3D and tentatively released in Nov 2000. Secondly there is a new
forum for strategies, walkthroughs & tips founded by Travis, to get
to it go to CDmag's
forum site then click on RPG and
then click on Magic & Mayhem
23/9/99 - Another walkthrough to check out from Vlagaz for one of the Aegean Regions - this time the Elysian Fields
13/9/99 - Another extremely long period of not updating, due to various factors. However, The Law section is now completely finished; Thanks to Vlagaz for his valuable help. Vlagaz has also submitted the first walkthrough for one of the Aegean regions - Parnassus check it out under the walkthrough section. I haven't heard any news from Nolithius so for the moment the site will be staying put.
19/7/99 - Sorry for the long period of not
updating, hopefully soon work will continue. The site has been down due
to the
recent Geocities merger, but is hopefully
back. The site now has a new staff member, Nolithius who will very kindly
be improving the presentation of the site. The Arcane Realms will be moving,
as I am annoyed with the recent disruption due to the Geocities merger.
21/6/99 - After a long period of not updating, I have various news to report. The Arcane Gallery is up with the first few cool screenshots (Thanks to Dita for his cool pics), and I have started on the Strategy tips and hints for the creatures. The Law Section is half done, and will hopefully be completed over the next few days, and work will begin on the Law and Chaos Sections soon after. Also, checkout ISVC407's site on the links section. Finally, something worth mentioning - the Arcane Realms is going to be listed at Gone Gold :)
30/5/99 - The walkthrough for the final region
in Avalon, Joyous Garde is up in Vlagaz's Chronicles section. Vlagaz &
I
have also been redesigning the Walkthrough
section so it is hopefully more friendly; hope you like it :)
28/5/99 - Complete stats are now up for all creatures in Magic & Mayhem; and I'll hopefully be adding some strats & tactics for different creatures soon.
21/5/99 - Creatures stats are up for all the Law Aligned Creatures; Stats on Neutral & Chaos Aligned Creatures, as well as some tactics to follow
15/5/99 - A couple of things: The next two regions, The Misty Marshes & The Forest of Woodmans Hill are up in Vlagaz's walkthrough section. But also I was searching through the web for info and I found this piece of news at Games Domain:
"Magic & Mayhem sequel planned
The sequel, which is being designed with a
working title of Magic & Mayhem 2: The Inquisition,
will be published by Virgin Interactive in
the UK, probably in late 1999. Magic & Mayhem (1) is set
for a US release in the second quarter of
1999. The Inquisition is set to feature a new co-operative
multiplay campaign mode, and a number of new
monsters."
Cool eh? Looks like all M & M fans are
in for more blasting fun - roll on late 1999 ! :)
9/5/99 - Quite a few things to report here. First I've heard from the forums that the v1.1 problems are finally sorted out (as of 7/5/99) So now all fans can blast away online to their hearts content :). The Arcane Realms now has it's first staff/helper member other than me - Vlagaz - He has very kindly agreed to do walkthrough tips in an ongoing walkthrough for the single player campaign - check out his section for cool tips on the first five regions of Avalon. I've created a News Archive as the current list was getting a bit long. Finally if you want to view the site in all it's glory download these fonts
4/5/99 - Work has begin on the Creatures Section; a General Information page is up and specific details on the creatures will soon follow .....
29/4/99 - The report on the v1.1 patch is up and can be seen here; also included is a complete list of all spell & creature mana cost changes. More news from the forums; v1.1 of M & M should be playable on the zone by the end of Thursday according to Mythos
28/4/99 - Just heard some news from the forums, It appears that there has been a delay getting the versioning number info changed on the zone for the 1.1 patches. The zone update for this should happen within the next few days as it was planned to coincide with the US release of M & M ..... So it looks like the best thing might be to use the original game version for a few days and then try the 1.1 patch again.
27/4/99 - Well, today finally sees the release
of Magic & Mayhem in the US. Have fun with the game all you US M &
M fans and if any of you would like to contribute to/help with the site
you'll be more than welcome :) Meanwhile there still appear to be some
problems with the 1.1 patch and gaming on the Microsoft Game Zone in Europe
& the UK - the solution as shown on my last news update doesn't appear
to work according to some of my friends who have tried it . It might be
necessary to go back to using the original game version until this
is cleared up ....
23/4/99 - The Release date for the states has
been pushed back to 27th April, but M & M fans in the UK & Europe
will be glad to know that the v1.1 patch is out .... available at Virgin
Interactive's Magic &
Mayhem site, download it here
- look for a report on the patch soon heree aat the Arcane Realms. The portal
of links is up ... Thanks also to my pal Stu Walker for the cool new animated
GIF's on the title & links ....
There appears to be a problem with the v1.1
patch when playing on the Microsoft Gaming Zone ... to fix it go here
- thanks to Dita & King Edwood for
that piece info :)
