Hugo's World Of Radio Controlled Model Airplanes

Welcome to my Radio Control (RC) webpage and thanks for stopping by! I really enjoy building and flying model airplanes. My interests are both in scale and aerobatics airplanes. I'd like to dedicate this webpage to these airplanes. I've really enjoyed creating this website because it allows me to share my experiences and knowledge about the hobby with others.
I hope that you like my webpage and find the information useful.

What's Up @ Hugo's World

Well the site has been given another new look. I've spent the last few months taking web courses after work. So I figured that I should put those skills to use. The sites content is still basically the same as before, the main difference being that this time I used different tools to develop it.

In between classes I found some time to create a new airplane. It is a Hangar 9 "Aspire" electric sailplane. I missed the peacefullness and tranquility that comes with flying a 2 meter glider. Actually this one is electric powered and an ARF at that , but the kit is very well put together. It comes factory covered in one of my favorite covering materials, "Ultra-Cote" by Goldberg. I haven't flown it yet, but I plan to very soon. See the picture on left. No this is not a picture of mine, but mine looks just like it.

This month marks the beginning of my favorite time of the year. Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas. I guess that it's the kid in me remembering all of the fun times that I had, while growing up during this joyous part of the year.

Update: Today (10-20-2000)I finally got a chance to test fly the Aspire. I managed to get three good flights. She flew great. Trim adjustments to the rudder where required to keep it flying straight and level.

Today was also the first time that I have flown at the Rosebowl. For years I have been hearing about a group of guys that fly gliders there, but I didn't when or were they flew, until one Sunday earlier this year that I decided to drive down there just for the heck of it. Lo and behold when I got there there was a glider contest going on. To make a long story short it was there and then that I met two Pasadena Soaring Society members, Tony and Alex. It was they that told me about their club and the days of the week that they are there flying their gliders.

Anyway it was a great day and I plan to be back out there next Friday. That's it for now.

Before you go take a quick look at some of the pictures that I took at the Chino Airshow 2000.

Have fun and happy flying!
