"Warrior's Penance"

Is this my warrior's penance? To watch your tortured dreams?
Memories that poison have entered your veins, tainting what made you strong.
Your mind has been pillaged by giants, ransacking your faith and hope.
Your heart is so charred from dragons, spewing their flames of deceit.
The same ideals that sent you to me are sentencing and condemning your soul.

With warrior's resolve I cry hard tears and make a pledge to the gods.
Reclaiming for you the vows of innocence, I see as you lie on my lap.
To counter attack the demons, pulling you safe in my arms.
Is this my warrior's penance? Instead it is my vow.
The same ideals that sent you to me, to implant and restore in your soul.
