Introduction
This site show the Chilean Navy history since when the first ironclad arrived to Chile.
Internationally, the Navy has reputation to be a first class fighting force, sometimes spite still to have old ships. As an example, the United States attempted unsuccessfully to buy the Almirante Latorre battleship and some destroyers shortly after the attack on Pearl Harbor (1941)!!!
