NEW
Program!! The
Mudi has been accepted into the American Kennel Club
Mudi owners are now able to send in applications for recording of their Mudi in the AKC FSS program. Please visit the AKC website or the AMA AKC webpage for further information. This is a wonderful accomplishment by the AMA to protect and preserve an already small gene pool in a rare breed, by being able to record USA born Mudi's with the AKC FSS program, we therefore will have the ability for these USA born dogs to be recognized by many other FCI Kennel Clubs around the world. Mudi breeders in the USA will no longer only be able to take from the worldwide Mudi population, but now also will be able to return genes to the gene pool as well. The AMA would like to thank the AKC for accepting the Mudi breed into the FSS program and enabling it to have a brighter and more stable future in the USA and the world. The AMA would also like to extend a special thank you to Patricia Lejman, FSS Coordinator, for all of her work to help this goal for the Mudi in the USA to be achieved. The following countries Kennel Clubs have reported that they will recognize the AKC FSS recorded pedigree, although they have not been requested to accept any Mudi as of this time: Austria
These countries reported they will not recognize the AKC FSS recorded pedigree: Belgium
If your countries Kennel Club is not listed here and will agree to recognize the AKC FSS recorded pedigree, please email a copy of their acceptance letter to the AMA. Please
