| 4/29/05 The front-end is about finished. I have installed the Tera control arms, OME shocks & steering stabilizer, and JKS adjustable track bar. I lengthened the control arms 5/8" out to retain my wheelbase and to keep the springs centered about the bumpstops. For not having air everything went on pretty smoothly. I just need to check the camber/castor; also noticed my tie-rod is bowed. That probably happened at the last Big Dogs event that I went on. It isn't surprising - I just need to go buy a ZJ tie-rod set-up now. Everything else has been ordered to finish the suspension, and my axle is ready I just need to go pick it up. The rear-end is currently being disassembled, and I've removed the DT shocks, the Tera springs, the anti-sway bar, and the upper control arms. Another day and it should be totally stripped down (good opportunity to clean under there). 7/31/05 Things are in flux... the Ford 8.8 is bolted up, but it needs to be adjusted to clear the OME shocks - moved forward via adjustable control arms, shock relocation brackets, hammering on shit, etc. I really need to go to a junkyard and scrounge some miscellaneous bolts and shit and get this damn thing finished. Time is just hard to find... 9/8/05 I'm slow... Ford 8.8 is adjusted for the OME shocks. Gimme driveshafts! All the wiring is obtained and only must be plugged in - no splicing here, the entire wiring from a '01 Sport is now in my possession. Hopefully this weekend the wiring will be complete. Still need to sort out the rear brakes and measure for driveshafts, remove the Congo Cage, throw on the 33" MT/Rs, and get miscellaneous parts. Ugh... never ends. |
